NOTIFICATION OF CULVERT MAINTAINANCE SCHEME: Culvert lining 2026- Drain Connection Culvert - Friskney
I am writing to inform you that the above highway scheme is due to be undertaken and may cause disruption to the highway network. The works are planned to be undertaken over a period of 5 days between the 27th July – 31st July. During this period It will be necessary to close the public highway to vehicular traffic on Skirmore road (From the junction of Skirmore and Patman’s Lane, 50 metres to the east). Through traffic will be not permitted and will be instructed to use the diversion route attached.
1. Description of works:- Liner going through the existing structure to prolong the life of the culvert.
2. Reason for works:- To strengthen the corroded pipe underneath the road.
3. Main Contractor:- Balfour Beaty Living Places.
4. Commencement approx. date:- 27/07/2026
5. Approximate duration of works:- 5 days.
The decision to proceed with these works has been made, and full consideration has been given to alternative construction methods and traffic management options.
All reasonable measures will be taken to complete the scheme as quickly as possible, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption and inconvenience.
The five-day timescale is provided as a precaution to allow for potential delays, as dry weather conditions are required for these works, although it is expected that this duration may not be fully required.
